How This Site Is Funded

Affiliate commission, and nothing else. Here is exactly how that works and what it does not buy.

Last updated September 1, 2026

The plain-English version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price - the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not out of your pocket, and using our link never costs you anything.

That commission is the only revenue this site has. There is no advertising, no sponsored content, no paid placement and no subscription.

The required Amazon statement

Peel & Flame is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What commission does not change

The order things appear in. Rankings follow the weighted criteria published in section 5 of the methodology: fitness for the job, the physics, published specification quality, practical handling, durability. Commission is not one of them and never has been.

Whether we recommend buying at all. Several pages here conclude that the right answer is to preheat for longer, use less sauce, or use the cast iron pan you already own - and say so instead of finding something to sell.

Which product wins. Where the cheaper option is the better one, that is what we publish. There are products on this site ranked below cheaper alternatives, and products we tell you explicitly not to buy.

What we refuse

  • Payment for placement or ranking. Never accepted, never will be.
  • Sponsored posts. No page on this site was paid for by a manufacturer.
  • Free products. None have been sent to us and none would be accepted - which is straightforward for us, since we do not test.
  • Manufacturer review or approval. No maker sees a page before it publishes.

Which retailers we link

RetailerRelationshipStatus
AmazonAmazon AssociatesActive - we earn commission

At present that is the entire list. If we join another program in future, this table is where it will appear, and every commercial link on the site already routes through a single internal redirect so a change here does not require rewriting any page.

How you can tell which links earn

Every earning link on this site carries rel="sponsored nofollow", opens in a new tab, and is marked #ad directly beneath it. A short disclosure also appears above the first commercial link on every page that has one, and in the footer of every page on the site.

Links inside body copy that point to other pages on this site are ordinary internal links and earn nothing. Links to manufacturers' specification pages, cited as sources, are not affiliate links either - they exist so you can check a number.

Prices

We do not write prices into pages. Where a price appears it comes from a live data layer with a 48-hour freshness gate; anything older disappears and the button falls back to "Check price". At present the site holds no live price data at all, so no price appears anywhere - which is the system working rather than a gap. The reasoning is in section 6 of the methodology.

Analytics and cookies

We record when a buy link is clicked, as an anonymous event in Google Analytics, because it is the only way to know which recommendations readers find useful. That event records the merchant, the destination and the page it came from - not who you are.

Retailers set their own cookies once you arrive on their site. That is their process and it is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. See our privacy policy.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you think a page is not living up to it, write to info@peelandflame.com. The claims we have banned ourselves from making are published in full on the editorial policy, and holding us to that list is exactly what it is there for.
